Six years down the line the ambitious project has turned into quite the feat of design and detail. The GTA: Underground mod was first released in 2015, but at this point it was still a buggy mess that needed some serious TLC. The whole mod has been created in the style and spirit of GTA: San Andreas, the most beloved game of the series, and can be installed on this base game. The mod, created by modder dkluin, can be downloaded from Moddb, and on its page the modder boasts not only a combination of GTA's biggest maps, but also gang wars, additional vehicles and weapons, and a multiplayer mode. According to Dark Side Of Gaming, version 4.1.7 adds some more polish to the map, like fixing collisions in Vice City and updating the radar map. This update to GTA: Underground comes with a built-in installer, and has had several fixes and improvements implemented. These three cities make it very obvious that they are modelled after some well-known real cities in America, namely San Francisco, Miami, and New York respectively.
